I have a hayward power flo lx 1580 filter pump with a micro clear star filter. I am trying to figure out how to install a strainer basket to the filter pump.
I have an old power flow lx 1580 that does not work, with a strainer basket. The new one I purchased did not come with one (the supplier explained it was not a wet end). However, everything keeps getting jammed into the impeller, so I would like to install the strainer basket to avoid damage. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the housing cover from the old pump, off of the strainer basket. I have removed the clip, but from there, I'm lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
