this morning i go out to turn on my pool pump and test and about the time im done doing my chemical test, the motor cuts off for a few seconds then cuts back on. this is all it will do and when i cut it off i can hear inside the motor it sounds like its reseting or something. its a click sound. i hope the motor isn't going out as its not very old, 1 year and 1 month old and just out of warranty. does anyone have any ideas on what would be causing this?

Most likely overheat, check to make sure the impeller is not stuck (see if it will turn by hand with the motor power turned off)
Its not overheating I just turned it on when it started doing this. It works on low speed but not on high. Oh well as long ad it works on low till I can come up with the money to have it fixed i guess.

That could be the centrifugal switch. Sometimes the contacts get dirty or the spring breaks.mississippiben said:
