My neighbor is putting in a 18,000gal IG pool. The PB is installing a Sta Rite 300sqft cartridge filter and a Hayward Navigator suction side cleaner. After doing a search on the forum it seemed most are using cartridge filters of 400 or more sf for that size pool. My thought to begin with was that filter seemed small but I know nothing about cartridge filters. We are in a very dusty environment and I oversized my filter accordingly. Cost is not an issue but they only want to do this once. I would appreciate any input.

The larger filter has several advantages, but the smaller filter will work if it is paired with a pump of appropriate size.
