Salt level issues

Hi guys,
My salt level is way too high - 4300 ppm and I'm running a low salt SWG (recommended 1000-1800).
My daughter appears to be allergic to the high salt - rashes and hives come out.

How do I get the levels down? Can I back wash to a level below the skimmer (I'm not sure how the mechanics of a pool works) and refill after?
Should I be back washing to 1/2 full level?

I'm assuming that's the only way to get levels down?

The only way to reduce salt is to change out water so sending it to waste during the backwash cycle would take care of that.

I have never heard of being allergic to salt water. Are you sure there is not something else going on in they water, like high CC? Post up a full set of test results.
