Pool Calculator Question

16oz. to a pound for weight.

16 oz. per pint for volume.

Fluid oz. are not the same as a weighed oz., & not all powdered chemicals have the same density.

Bottom line, if you're going to measure with a scale, use the "by weight" number. If you're going to use a measuring cup, use the "by volume" number.

I feel like I'm a relatively smart person, and I am not getting this. But I think I can move forward if you can confirm:

If I go by the weight on a box, I should use the weight measurement? example: baking soda.

Don't worry, my wife is an incredible chef and she still has yet to learn there is a difference between fluid oz and weight.

I've got a big 4 quart clear plastic drink/kool-aid jug I use for pool chemicals and just always go by volume as there are nice qt and 1/2 qt markings on the side.
