Well I have an old raypak 2100 and I was expecting trouble getting it fired up this year since last year it wouldnt fire. This year lit the pilot light, flipped the switch to on then turned up the thermostat and it fired right up. Now I flipped the switch off and it didnt shutdown. I didnt wait very long I just turned off the gas to it. Possible, its just a bad switch?

Sounds like the gas valve is stuck open. After you turned the gas off, if you turn it back on do you smell gas without lighting it?
I thought the same thing, but I don't smell gas. I have a gas detection tool. I will verify its not.
