I have had my pool for a number of years and am more than familiar with removing the cover of my cartridge filter to clean the cartridge. Today, however, after I removed the pressure cap, I tried to unscrew the lid and it wouldn't unscrew. The handle is turning, but it feels like the threads on the interior screw might be stripped. Any thoughts on how I can get the cover off?

Welcome to TFP!!!Can you provide more specifics and/or pictures of the filter and someone may be able to help? ... the Unicel you have mentioned in your signature is the manufacturer of the aftermarket cartridge and not the filter itself.
