    Stenner acid tank/pump

Those of you who have an acid pump with the Autopilot TC, do you put straight muratic acid in the tank or do you dilute it?

    Thanks, Jeff

AutoPilot suggests a four to one dilution (water to acid).

Any ideas for this recommendation? I don't have the Autopilot...yet. I have a 2-stenner tanks (one bleach and one acid). I'm guessing I will follow the Autopilot recommendation.

You do want some dilution, both to prevent fumes from being an issue and to keep the water in the pipe from having too low of a PH when the pump is injecting acid. The counterpoint is that the higher the dilution the less acid you can fit in the tank.

I expect that anything from 3 to 1 up through 6 to 1 would be fairly reasonable, though it depends somewhat on the rate at which the pump injects acid.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks. My pump range is 0.2 to 5 GPD. So any dilution should work.
