We are under way on a new construction and having some questions. The pool builder has just put the "brown coat" around the top where the coping is going and there a lot of cracks in the brown coat. is this normal? Do we need to be concerned. Another pool builder from Tx suggested we have our pool builder redo the brown coat. He says it's an issue of water potentially seeping down under the coping. Is the brown coat supposed to give you a water tight seal. and is it an issue if water does get under the coping ?
