If the olct test is 0.5ppm , cc at 0.0 but water is still a little cloudy ( sand filter) can I stop shocking. Really
sunny this last week and burning through a lot of bleach (6 to 8 liter/day)
Thanks

The shock process is finished when:
1) CC of .5 or less
2) OCLT of 1 ppm or less
3) Pool is clear.
So no, you should keep shocking. Have you tried adding DE to your sand filter? There is a link in pool school somewhere.

cya level is 30. I'm impatient. Losing 1/2 to 2/3 chlorine to the sun just hurts. Thanks for the encouragement, I will to continue to shock. When I think about it, the pool has come a long way from a thick, smelly swamp to partially cloudy in 9 days. Yes I'm also using DE when I'm home for a few hours. Thanks to everyone who contributes on this site.

Just be sure that you are running your pump 24/7 during the process. Filter time cannot be underestimated in this process. You're doing good! :goodjob:
