Main drain (sophomoric giggle)

I'm trying to drain my IG to drop the CYA level...does every IG pool have a drain at the bottom of the deepest part? And should it be draining water if the pump is on waste? FYI, there is only 1 valve on the inflow side of the pump.

I'm currently vacuuming through the skimmer on waste trying to drop the level. When the water dropped below the other skimmer the output dropped drastically too.

No, not every inground has a bottom drain. Can you not see the bottom?

Thanks FPM. It's still a little cloudy, so can't see the bottom of the deeper parts. I did use the leaf skimmer and I think I can feel one. I tried to make sure there was no debris covering it...we've not had much large debris.
