I live in El Paso, where it it sunny 364 1/2 days 
My pool equipment is 2 yrs old, the equipment is on the eastside of the house, so it only gets the morning sun for about 6 hrs in the summer and less in the winter but I have already noticed that the PVC pipes are turning yellow, and my pentair filter is discoloring, I was wondering if I should protect them by putting something on the pipes, I know keeping them shaded would be best, but it gets hot here and I am worried about over heating the pump. any thoughts???
