I decided to "deep clean" my sand filter after partially clearing a seriously swampy pool (as I found in other threads - basically sticking a hose down in the sand and manually flushing it). An amazing amount of junk came out of the sand!
Feeling victorious, I went to put the multiport valve back on, and it won't seat properly. It's as if the standpipe/laterals have moved up in the sand during the process, and now I can't get it back down. I don't want to apply too much force as I'm afraid of breaking the laterals.
This is the filter type I have for my AGP:

Any ideas or tips on how to resolve this? Hopefully without removing all the sand and starting over?
