How much D.E. ?????

I have a Leslies Crystal clear II Stainless. 72 sq ft D.E. filter

The decal on the tank says to add 9 pounds of D.E.
Leslies video on cleaning D.E. filters say 72 sq ft needs 14 scoops

Whats the real number in blue plastic D.E. scoops ?????

Those scoops vary a lot depending on how packed you get them. I found loose to give about 3/4 pound and got it to almost a pound by packing it pretty good.

Best too measure for yourself and go by weight.

I found a hidden problum with my filter , D.E. was getting in pool , new grids, and o-rings ,
After tearing it down i found the vent hose mounted on the grid maifold was split !!! But it was hard too see becuse of that little sock over it ...
Replaced on it all good now !!!
Well i can do a filter now in 15 min. !!!! Lot's of practice !!!
