I opened my pool today. Ugh!!! 50,000 gallons of swamp. My question is once I start dumping bleach, etc... into the pool, can I just keep the pump on circulate until the algae is all dead, or do I need to run it on the filter setting? Thanks.

You can put it on circulate until the algae is dead if you want. You will need it on filter after the algae is dead to clean up the water. This approach can be a big help with a DE filter, but won't make much difference with a cartridge or sand filter.
