How to reduce chlorine to zero with a salt chlorinator?

I have a 12,000 gal. pool which uses salt to produce chlorine. I have stains that I need to try to get rid of and I have purchased Ascorbic Acid. In order to use it I need to get the chlorine to 0 but the Intellichlor is plumbed in line and can not be removed or turned off.

How can I get rid of the chlorine since I have to run the pool to put in sodium metabisulfate which will lower the chlorine to 0, Yet running the pool produces chlorine? :?: :?:

EDIT: found the way to turn chlorinator off. Now the fun begins.

I see you figured it out.
FYI - I know of two ways to turn off the intellichlor:

1. Unplug it from the power adapter.
2. Push the button until all the level lights go off (eg 20/40/60/80 are not green)
