Polaris 280 vs 3900

From previous posts posts I searched was the 280 is the reliable workhorse.

The pool store seems to think the 3900 has been updated and is the better purchase. With the current rebates. The 280 would be $495 vs $609 for the 3900.

Anyone have the updated version of the 3900? Think for $100 the 3900 is the way to go?

The 280 is exceedingly reliable and really doesn't have any significant problems. Nothing they have done since has improved on it.
