No Reading on Soft Touch Screen only flashing red light

I have a 9 year old pool I bought with a autopilot dig 220 system installed.
I recently replaced my SC 36 cell with a new RC 35/22 cell. I also replaced the power cord as recommended.
Now the Soft touch screen gives no reading at all,only a flashing red light.
I've cleaned the union screen , cleaned the cell and made sure the wire is connected properly,and still only the flashing red light. No reading or anything.
What part do I have to buy now?

Is the light blinking in some specific pattern? For example some of the severe error messages are things like three blinks and then a pause, three blinks and then a pause, and so on.

No pattern, just red light blinking on and off.

That suggests a display failure, though there are other possibilities. The simplest case would be a loose or dirty connection where the display cables attach to the main board.
