Is there a limit on how far your pump equipment can be from the Pool? I have 2 locations to choose from. The more desirable location is about 50-60 feet from the pool and the less desirable spot is a little bit closer. Is it just about figuring the feet of head in the system and picking the right pump and pipe size, or is there another consideration I am not seeing.

Use bigger pipe and the distance will not matter too much. The larger pipe will lower the head more than the extra distance will add.

On a run of 50-60 feet, the increased resistance will make VERY little difference. As jblizzle says, size the pipe correctly and you'll have no problems.
