In Ground Pool 17K Gal with Hot Tub

I noticed that the water level in my raised hot tub would drain down to the pool water level after a few hours. I was told it was a check valve issue. I opened the check valve and water immediately rushed up from the pipes and out the valve. I immediately put the clear plate back on to stop the water. I then found out that the water flow to the hot tub no longer works. Did I do something that requires priming? Any help would be appreciated.

Since you opened the plumbing it drained the piping and it will require re-priming.

What re the steps to re-priming?

You did not happen to put the clear cover and check valve on backward did you?

Usually the pump will reprime itself in a few minutes and should push the air up to the spa ... assuming the check valve is correct.
