Hayward SelectFlo SP740DE...rebuild or replace?

My Hayward DP740DE select flow valve has been hard to turn lately so I tore it down to inspect the spider gasket and lube where necessary. The "key"assembly where the spider gasket resides has some damage (thin outer gasket support is cracked and should be replaced). I can find the valve stem/key assembly online for less than $50 shipped or I can buy the entire valve, key, stem, cover assembly for a little over $100. How hard will this be to disassemble and reassemble? Should I look into replacing the entire assembly altogether even though everything else looks good upon inspection? I'm not a pool guy but this forum also manages to keep me from losing any more hair so I'm looking to you all for advice.
