Has anybody tried this product? Does it work as well as acid? The bottle claims one bottle is equivalent to one gallon, does anybody know if this is true? Thanks

That is "dry acid" as discussed in Recommended Pool Chemicals pool school article. It is generally fine to use, but is typically more expensive then Muriatic acid. I would stick with MA.
well the reason why i ask is because i pay $4 for a gallon of acid and a bottle of this stuff is $2.99
Make sure to do the math. I suspect you get much more bang for your buck from the MA.

I see them in the $6-12.99 range for a 2.5lb canister which they say equals 1gal MA. Do you have a link for that price?
No i just saw this at the store the other day and asked them what the price was. do you think it truly is equivalent to 1 gallon MA?
I have not personally used it, but that's what no-mor advertises as the 2.5lb equivilent. At $2.99, that a great deal, but it is just dry acid (PH down) so it does add sulfur to the water over time. At that price, having some on hand when you run out of MA is not a bad idea, but I'd stick with MA for long term use as you avoide the sulfur issue.
It takes 171 oz, almost 11 lbs, of dry acid to equal 1 gallon of 20 baume muriatic acid. So I am having trouble understanding their marketing claim.
Maybe the marketing claim is just the same volume
