Opening Pool and Adding SWG

I plan to open my 21 ft. above ground pool this weekend and also install a SWG at the same time. My question is, should I get the pool balanced and clear first and then add salt or can I add salt to a green pool? My gut tells me to wait until I have it balanced and ready to swim, but I'd also like to get the salt dissolved and circulated in the pool as soon as possible so I can start using the SWG.

What's the right way to do it?

No reason not to add salt right away. That way you can add part of it, then check it before adding more. It doesn't take salt long to dissolve though.

The only reason not to add salt would be the possibility of draining part of water for whatever reason. If that's not on the cards you are safe to add it straight away
