Pentair Rainbow Auto Feeder Model 320 Question

Hello,

The home i bought has a Pentair 320 Chlorine Generator which i don't plan to use. Is there anything wrong with not putting tabs in it and leaving it installed or is there a way to just disable it? Unit was used by previous owner (10yrs) and has lots of paste buildup inside canister so it probably doesn't work that well anyways. I thought about removing it all together but at this time i don't want to cut pipe for removal. Thanks!

You can just leave it empty for now. May want to clean the gunk out though.

Clean it up so you can use it for vacations.

Mine is stored in the basement in case I ever need it. I capped the inlet and plugged the outlet (or vice versa) and left the diverter in place so I can reinstall it in minutes if I want to. Been that way for five years.
