I've got a vinyl liner (6yrs old) with a leak on the bottom step gasket. It was diagnosed by a guy and NOW the screws are out and the gasket is pulled. Subsequently, the liner has moved and the screw holes don't line up anymore. Now, no more guy. I've had another guy take a look and he says new liner or you have to seal where the step screw holes line up. But that would be short term fix and he's not sure it would work. Only real fix is a new liner. Anybody ever have this happen? HELP....

It sounds like your second guy is willing to give it a shot.....I would work with him.
Hate to say it but you are probably going to replace the liner. getting screws to line back up is almost impossible on a 90 degree day. Patching over them and trying to reinstall is almost a sure way to end up with a tear around the gasket seal area.
