solar cover

does anyone leave their solar cover on the reel outside for the winter? i have a super heavy duty one

The reel might be ok....but if the cover is on it, definately not.

I wrap the whole thing in a cheap blue tarp and store it alongside the house for the winter. But then our "winter" isn't like other places.

I left mine on the reel outside last year and it fell apart in the spring. Could be because it was a couple years old but I never had one disintegrate like that in previous years. Last year was the only year I left it out. I have also left it on the reel and brought it into my basement, I hung it from the rafters. Other times I folded it up and brought it in.
