converting hot tub from baqua softsoak to chlorine

Welcome to TFP!

You definitely don't want to add chlorine to your current water since that will create an unnecessary mess. Unless the product explicitly says it's not compatible with Baquacil/PHMB/biguanide, you can use the Spa System Flush in your current water. Then do a complete drain after that treatment and refill with fresh water. Then with that new water you can do a super-chlorination. At that point your best bet is another drain/refill (and check the filters for any leftover Baquagoo), but if you wanted to just dechlorinate and go from there you could.

If you want to skip the super-chlorination step and just use the fresh water with chlorine, you can, but you may end up with some Baquagoo if any Baqua is leftover in the piping since chlorine will react with it. You can see how it goes and if you find the water isn't great after only a single water change, then you can do another.

Thank you. We have drained the softsoak water out and are refilling now. We'll do the Spa System Flush, drain that out and refill to do a superchlorination, drain and refill and go from there with the dichlor chlorine system. We want to scrub the tub really well and wax the sides. When is the best time to do that? We thought probably after the superchlorination water is drained out and before we refill for the last time. Will that work? Thanks again
