Considering using copper for spillway in a salt-generated chlorine pool. Warned that it may turn the pool green. Is this a valid concern?

I doubt it will turn the pool water green but it may cause some virtually permanent staining and turn blonde hair green. I wouldn't use it.
We've got a copper scupper for a rain curtain that empties into the pool. I use the copper test kit from TFTestKits monthly and an never get a reading. Also, my daughter's blonde hair is still blonde, so if there's any copper leaching it's really quite minimal.

We have been putting copper spillways on salt, and non salt pools for many years with no issues.
Your copper will patina quite a bit more.

Probably from the use of copper piping. Copper is soft enough that if water flows through it at high enough rate it will scour copper away into the pool.
Your not generally running this type of feature with high flow rates that can cause this issue.
