I have to close my in ground pool but would like to know if the pool needs to be cleaned of all algea before I cover it .. my cover needs to be replaced so it doesn't stop all sunlight so algae grows at the beginning of the season anyway

what is the temperature I have to close by before problems occur?

Is it cheaper to clear up algae in a pool with a bunch of D.E. recharges or a shock of liquid chlorine?

Its going to be about 44 degrees at night in about 2 days here

Re: closing info

If you want the job of cleaning it upon opening I wouldn't worry about it. Just deal with it next year. However if you want to open to a clean pool, perform the shock process till it's clean, get a new cover and close it properly. The water temp should be below 60ºF when you close.
