Short Bonding Wire

Hi everyone....I am in the process of replacing an burned out pool pump. My problem is the bonding wire. It appears that the new pump is about 3" longer than the old pump in addition the bonding lug is located further back on the new pump. My problem is that I am unable to connect the bonding wire to the bonding lug because the wire is too short by approx 4". What is my solution?

Get a short piece of #8 copper wire and attach it to the existing bond wire with bonding connector. You should be able to get these at any home center or good hardware store.
