Hi all next season I want to replace my wide mouth skimmer and figure to buy it during the off season. Are all wide mouth skimmers the same size or do they have different dimensions? Thank you!

Who is the manufacturer of the pool?
For the very most part they are standard. Most pool manufacturers do not make skimmers and as such they make their openings to the meet industry standards so dealers can easily source them. However some manufacturers such as Doughboy/Lomart make their own skimmers and they are proprietary to their pools.

We sell Hayward and Olympic skimmers and they both use a different faceplate. The Hayward for some reason is .75" wider around the trim.

Hayward, Olympic, Waterway, Swimline/Hydrotools, etc. should all use a standard screw pattern. The trim plates will/can differ. Unless it's a different style Olympic skimmer then what was made 5 years ago (haven't run across on in a while) then it should interchange without a problem.
