I'm breaking ground on a new pool this week. The pool will be appox. 25k gallons with 8 ft round spa. We're putting the spa on separate pump and filter. The pool will have a Hayward Ecostar pump with Hayward Swimclear C4030 cartridge filter to try and maximize energy efficiency. My question is: If I put a single speed Hayward Super pump on the spa, am I going to eat up a bunch of energy and lose all savings from my Ecostar pump in the main pool? Will a 2 speed pump in the spa provide my much energy efficiency benefits? If so, any suggestions for pumps I should use in the spa?
