Would like to replace my 7 year old 100# waterway sand filter with a new "more better" filter. I am convinced its not doing the filtration job it used to and I have been told its an inferior design. Wondering what is the consensus as far as which "design" or "type" of filter is the best? FYI I have 24' above ground pool 3/4 HP pump (single speed) approximately 15,000 gallons.

Thank you!

Welcome to TFP.

That filter is a little small for that pool. The good news is that the pump is a great size for it.

Tell us more about your pump? Model, etc.

Type is your preference. Whether you want a cartridge, sand or DE it's strictly up to you. Unless you want a sand or DE filter I'd suggest a 200 sqft cartridge. There's no backwashing requirement for a cartridge filter so your pump will handle it fine.
