Umbrella bottom for baja reef

We are remodeling our pool and adding a baja reef. The pool builder said to get umbrella bottoms (pole) that is stainless steel. We've not been able to find any. Since the pool may corrode the pole, I assume that we should get something in stainless or fiberglass or ...?

Does anyone has experience of what works? Also, where do you go to buy the bottom piece of an umbrella pole in the chosen material?

How about just PVC pipe with a cap? I know lots of people have umbrella sleeves, hopefully they'll stop by and help.

Some of the other threads on thisnsubject inferred that the alumimum didn't corrode before the fabric deteriorated to where replacement was neccesary. I''m looking at purxhasing from California Umbrella myself because they have optional taller 'bar height' poles available.
