Solar cover time frame

When using a solar cover how long can it stay on pool before you need to remove it? Let the pool breath.

There is no real time frame ... the pool does not really need to breathe. Sure the sun helps break down the CC, but FC will do that as well.

Many people leave their pool covered months at a time over the winter.

While the cover will reduce the FC consumption since the sun will have less effect, you still need to monitor it so it does not get too low.

I wouldn't suggest using your solar cover all winter though. I left mine on last winter (so much was going on and I didn't get the pool closed properly) and it disintegrated. It was fun getting rid of all the little blue dots when I opened.
