Hi everyone,

New member here and for the first time ever I just opened my in-ground 16x32 22K gallon vinyl lined pool on the new house I purchased last year. Upon opening I also installed a Hayward Aquarite t15 SWG system. I guess i was a bit aggressive with my opening timeline in north NJ since the water is reading on average 51 degrees!!!. Its not even worth turning on my heat pump yet i think.

Anyways, I am concerned the SWG is not working right. When it turns on it begins generating properly for about 20 minutes and after 20 minutes the instant salinity reading goes to 0 and voltage shows on average 31.9. Here are the diagnostics

Power Light and Generating were steady green, all other lights off.

Average Salinity Reading: 3400
1. Pool temperature: 53
2. Cell voltage: 31.9
3. Cell current Amp: 0
4. Desired Output %: 52P
5. Instant salinity: -0
6. Product Code: AL-0
7. Software revision level: 1.55

I understand that if the Cell Voltage is 30+ the unit is not generating. I am hoping this has something to do with the pool temp being low and that my system is not broken. Its brand new! any ideas TFP experts? Thanks!

At 60 degrees or lower the percentage is limited to 20%.

Cycle time is 180 minutes. 180 x 52% x 20% = 18.7 minutes.

If you change the percentage to 100%, it will generate for 36 minutes of the 180 minute cycle.

Note that production stops completely at 50 degrees.

Wow this is very helpful. That’s exactly how long it is staying on for! glad to know it’s not broken. Why on earth would the light show generating when a cycle is off? Seems like poor design

do you recommend turning to 100% when water temp is between 50 and 60 degrees to ensure my pool gets enough chlorine? Or should I leave it at 50% and supplement with liquid chlorine?

I’m only showing 1 ppm for chlorine ugh

It always shows generating when the switch is in the Auto or Superchlorinate position even when it's not actually generating.

Normally we recommend using liquid chlorine below 60 degrees.

If liquid chlorine is hard to find, I would turn up the chlorinator.
