Ecostar Interface Controller Question

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if a regular EcoStar pump Interface Controller can work with a EcoStar SVRS pump?

We had an SVRS go down and swapped the controller from another SVRS to check to see if the pump and motor was ok and it worked. But when we tried a regular controller from another EcoStar (reg one) which we knew was working the pump did not work.

Does a EcoStar SVRS pump need a SVRS controller?

I believe the only difference between the two models is the drive since that is the only thing that has a different part#. And even at that, I believe it is the same drive with just a software load difference.

So the answer to your question, the pump and motor are exactly the same so they should work fine with either drive. You may even be able to convert one drive to the other with a software load or simple configuration change. However, the external SVRS device is needed to enable SVRS.
