Cell Storage (or not)

I have the option of either storing my cell out of my circuit and keeping it dry over the winter. What's the best solution?
Another question: Thinking about just removing my cartridge filter from the system also. As I keep the pool pump on-line with a pumpguard timer, seems like a simple thing to do and get full flow when the pump does come on.
Any thoughts??

There are people that do that, an I'm sure it's not a bad idea depending on where you live. I'm not sure it's absolutely necessary in Charlotte but it won't hurt anything.

We remove our cell and store it in the basement over the winter. We put a couple of those expandable rubber winter plugs in the pipes where the cell was removed.
