Since we installed the pool in 2005, every year around early August I've get an algae bloom that kept recurring until I closed in September. Except this year. I was wondering I could repeat this from now on.

The salt meter display on my SWG stopped working this year as it is reading 5400. (which is impossible)
SWG recommendation 3700-3400.
Salt 3100 (measured with AquaCheck strips, 4000 per pool store.

Here are my current other numbers
CYA 40 to 50 (which is a bit lower than usual for SWG)
ph 7.8
FC 6 (prior to this year, I kept it at 1-3)
TA 110
CH 225

Early in the year, I ran the SWG to keep pool at 3ppm.
In late July just as I saw the water start to turn, I shocked it up to 34ppm for 2 days.
Since then I kept chlorine around 6-8 and have not had any algae problems.

I still continue to get a water behind the liner which means I have to manually vacuum since the auto vacuum gets hung up.

Hope everyone had a good a year as I did. :whoot:
Take Care,
Carl
