pool winter cover pump

Hi, i usually just use a hose to syphon water off my winter cover because i get alot of leaves that blow in and the water just gets all brown and yucky.Also i have a problem with water getting syphoned out of the pool.It is like it sucks right through the cover.I was thinking of buying an electric pump to syphon the water.Does anyone know if they work and if it will syphon out of the pool? Thanks

+1 for the Rule pump. I've had one for over a couple years now, and been very happy with it. works well for draining water off winter cover. Just my 2 cents. I think I found it on eBay for ~$100.
