Low CH in Vinyl liner pool with fiberglass steps

I've been doing some quick research and have yet to come upon a definitive answer, at least as far as I can find right now.

I've had a CH reading of 90 for the last couple of weeks and am concerned about whether or not I need to bring it up to the 200-300 range short term. I dd notice what appeared to be some metal stains on the fiberglass steps, on the vertical surface - go figure. I did read a report or two of possible metal staining.

Does anyone here have an opin on this ? Specs in signature.

I wouldn't add any CH.

If you suspect metal staining, crush up some vitamin C tabs in a sock and hold it onto the stain for several minutes. If the stains disappears, you have metal staining but that is essentially unrelated to any CH issue.
