How to handle stains from PUCKs / Chlorine tabs

My plaster pool has stains from chlorine tablets (from a modified sunken tablet dispenser -- modified by drilling more holes so that it didn't collect bubbles and float -- dumb). If you don't know what a sunken tablet dispenser is, that's not important, think about a tablet sitting almost directly on the plaster. Now I have stains that were caused by the tablets. Is there a way to remove these? Acid wash? (Not sure what that does.)

That may be permanent. I can't remember any solutions here on the forum.

I can certainly remember others having the issue but I do no think their is a viable solution.

Yeah...I'm with Dave. Is the stain lighter than the remaining plaster? What color is the plaster? It may have just bleached out.

It's actually darker. ? My plaster is very light blue and the streaks are a darker blue. Many of them streak towards the deep end from where the tablet holder rested. Sort of like this:

you haven't by chance also used a copper based algaecide have you?

If the stains are darker, the tablets may have had copper in them.
