My SpeedStir arrived today so I drove straight from the mailbox to the pool. It felt like Christmas. Lol. I only needed to check FC/CC. I had so much fun with it that I tested everything. If you don't have one, get one! I was just a BBB snob. Now I'm an SS snob, too.

Curious why you would resort to BORATES to lower your TA, and not just add a bunch of MA ??? Is that because your PH is already low? I mean, yea, the TA is a bit high, but only by about a value of 50 ... I need to get me 1 of those SS !!

You misunderstand. They are working on lowering the TA (using MA and aeration) so that it will be in range and then they can add borates for look/feel/pH buffering.
