Best way to drain 25% of pool?

Ok whats the best way to drain part of a pool. I made the mistake of listening to the local pool people before finding this site and now my salt is at 5800ppm and should be at 4000ppm. So I need to drain a quarter or so of my pool according to the pool calculator.

Heres my problem. My bottom intakes are what the pool guy called dummy drains. (As in the other "Main Drain" thread I am looking into a converter). So right now if the water falls below the skimmer level it will not drain. Soooo........

Question is:
1. Can I attach my pool hose to the pump intake in the skimmer and let it pump out on waste setting? or..

2. Would it be better both long term and current to invest in a sump pump?

Best bet would be to get yourself a sump pump. You can rent at Home Depot but you may just want to buy one since you may have to use it again someday.
