hoses different sizes

We have a Summer Escapes pool and the pump on the skimmer died. I purchased an Intex 1000 gph to replace it but the Intex hoses are 1 1/4" which is smaller than the 1 1/2" SE hoses and connections. How do I connect the new 1 1/4" hoses to the 1 1/2" connectors? Thanks for any help!
