Help Plaster acid wash question

PB is plastering pool today with Diamond Brite Plaster. I asked about acid wash and he said it reduces life of plaster but could do a light wash.
Is an acid wash normal after plaster?
Any help appreciated as he will be finished and filling pool today.

Why would you want to acid wash new plaster?

Pebble finishes are always acid washed to expose the pebbles. With diamond brite an acid wash will bring the color out a bit more but isn't essential.
