CYA on vinyl liner?

How badly can CYA damage a vinyl liner if it is accidently spilled out of the sock, and allowed to sit for who knows how long? I have a bit of a rough spot on the bottom of the pool, and it is bleached, BUT I don't know if it because of the CYA, or a trichlor puck one of the kids tossed in last summer....

it probably won't do much harm, particularly if you brush it so it doesn't just sit in the same area until it dissolves.
This is exactly why I always recommend pouring it into the skimmer and letting it dissolve slowly in the filter!

I hung a sock of it in the skimmer, but my skimmer hangs on the edge of the pool and some got on the liner, and probably sat there until it dissolved.
