Water loss. Left waterfall on overnight.

Hello all,

I woke up this morning thinking I was going to have an overflowing pool given the heavy rain we got last night. Instead I lost several inches of water. Water was barely getting into the skimmer. Now yesterday we had a pool party and I turned on the waterfall, and at the end of the night when the rain started coming down, I neglected to shut off the waterfall. Now my first thought this morning was that there could be a leak in the piping feeding the falls, which can be the case since I barely ever turn this thing on. However could it be something else? We had some pretty heavy winds last night also. Thoughts?

The wind could cause some loss but several inches is probably a leak as well.
