Pool Handrails

My Wife recently had hip surgury and the pool would be great therapy for her recovery. The problem was , we didn't have a handrail to help her get in and out of the pool. I got three estimates to have a handrail installed and the prices ranged from $525 to $750. I thought this was a bit steep so I made my own using 11/2" PVC pipe and a few fittings. Check out the pics!

Meatloaf,
Nice looking job there, but one question, If say your wife or someone else losses their balance, how sturdy are the rails? I know when that stuff breaks it makes some wicked sharp ends
