CYA = not my friend

ok after doing 1/3 to 1/2 drain of my pool my cya was about 180 (doing the 50/50 dilute test).

drained another 1/3 today and refilling back up. I will post a full set of numbers when it is full.

Tested before the drain (yesterday evening I added 2 182oz bottles of bleach to bring to 19ppm)

CH 160
pH 7.4
CYA ~170

my pool is crystal clear but eating up chlorine like nobody's business. any suggestions, thoughts? fresh numbers coming later today.

If the FC is disappearing fast with CYA that high, there is likely something in the water consuming it.

Once you get the CYA reasonable, perform the OCLT to determine if you should start the shock process.
